Homo Sapiens

Homo sapiens is a short film and media-artwork about a family whose entire life happens in their home. They have no contact with their species partners and live under constant surveillance. The family knows nothing but the prevailing circumstances. Not even the viewer knows who is watching them.
The characters in the film go through the norms of our life course, such as birth, mating, and the symbiosis and differentiation between parent and child. The people in this family don’t talk because the culture around them is gone. The role of actors is to be delicately primitive, in such a way that the viewer recognizes the emotional states responsible for the persons in the work, which he or she is going through.
The setting of the film is like that of a dystopian sci-fi, in which people would be left with only a few barred individuals being watched and controlled by some other dominant actor. Instead of a sci-fi film, however, it is a more experimental, short film in which the given situation is essentially a metaphor for humanity.
